Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games
During the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018), Surfers Paradise will act as a Transport Hub for spectators and the workforce, providing connections to Carrara, for Ceremonies and Athletics events. It will also include a major Festival 2018 site.
Walking, cycling or public transport will be the best options for people located closest to the precinct attending Festival 2018 events in Surfers Paradise. For security and congestion reasons, no parking will be provided at Festival 2018 sites.
To ensure the safety and security of athletes, spectators and the community, there will be changes to the road network and public transport in the lead up to, during and after these events including:
- road and lane closures
- speed limit changes
- bus stop and timetable changes, and
- changes to parking and load zones
